HelchPOS vs peazi: the same QR menu, a different amount of product
peazi does QR ordering well and cheaply, and stops there. Where the two overlap, where they do not, and the one thing peazi has that we have refused.
peazi sells "just better" hospitality ordering: a QR menu, card and Apple Pay in the guest flow, tipping, click & collect, multi-vendor ordering, allergen tags, timed menus, discount codes, extra charges. It is a focused product at a keen price, and most of that list exists in HelchPOS too.
So the comparison is unusually simple. Almost peazi's entire surface area is a subset of ours — except the payments.
Where peazi is ahead
- Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay inside the guest flow. A guest on peazi pays on their phone. A guest on our QR menu orders on their phone and pays at the counter, because we record card rather than process it. For a venue whose whole reason for QR is not queueing at a till, that difference is the decision.
- A polished pricing calculator on their own site, which is a better sales tool than most competitors manage.
- Free menu migration as a service. We have the loader scripts — they pulled a seven-kitchen menu out of another system in an afternoon — but we do not offer it as a service with a name and a price.
Where HelchPOS is ahead
- Everything peazi does not attempt: the till, the kitchen screen, ingredient-level stock, recipes and margin, purchase orders, rotas, clocking, holiday, contracts, labour against sales.
- Depth inside the QR menu itself: meal deals that span kitchens, hall-wide loyalty, order-ahead for a time slot, group tabs several phones add to, per-channel names and photographs, and modifiers that cost stock rather than only money.
- Sold out means sold out everywhere — the counter, the QR menu and the kitchen screen — with a rule for when it comes back, rather than an item that disappears and has to be remembered.
Who should choose which
If you want guests paying on their phones this month, for as little as possible, and you already have a till and a stock system you are keeping, peazi is a sensible answer and we are not.
If you are replacing the lot — or you are a food hall where the interesting problems are one basket across five kitchens, whose money that is, and what the food actually cost — then peazi is a menu and we are a system.
Said again, because it decides this one: we do not process card payments and have no plan to pretend otherwise. Also unproven: delivery adapters against a live restaurant, and text messages, which have never been sent. Printing was on this list when we wrote it; since 27 August 2026 a Star TSP143IV at a live venue prints dockets over CloudPRNT, and the Epson and label-printer paths are still unproven.
