Tabs, held open by name

A table’s round stays open as a running order — add to it all evening, settle it once at the end, split it properly when they argue about who had the cocktails. One honest limit: HelchPOS cannot pre-authorise a card behind a tab, because our own card processing is not switched on yet. A tab here is trust plus a name, the way most locals run them anyway — decide per venue whether that is your policy.

Happy hour that runs itself

Timed pricing switches the list at five and switches it back at seven, on every till and every menu at once. Nobody re-keys a price mid-shift, and nobody honours a discount an hour late because a laminated sign outlived the offer.

Splits that survive the argument

By equal shares, by exact amounts, or item by item — she pays for her wine, he pays for the round he swore he was getting. Each payment is recorded as itself: part cash, part card, part voucher, to the penny.

£0 a month, on the hardware you have

The till is a browser login — the phone in your pocket, the tablet behind the bar, the second device at Friday peak. No licence per till, no contract, no bill in January when the trade is not there.
